Why Traditionalists object to a new liturgy: Dogma.

Not only is Catholic doctrine and dogma handed down through Scripture, it is handed down by Sacred Tradition as well. Objectively speaking, the ancient and Apostolic liturgies celebrated and handed down by the early church are apart of Sacred Tradition since it expresses what the Church believes, as Saint Basil explains. This is the very reason why we Catholics who uphold Tradition are very strict when it comes to properly celebrating the liturgy, simply because we wouldn’t want souls to be harmed by innovation and blasphemy. But then again, what good Catholic would?

When the Protestant heresy was spreading throughout the West in the 16th century after Martin Luther and other Protestant theologians and founders were in protest against Catholic doctrine and Dogma, the Church has responded with a Ecumenical Council called the Council of Trent. At this council the heresies of Protestantism were condemned since they are heretical in their nature and both contradict and challenge Church teaching.

At this Sacred Council inspired by The Holy Ghost, Third Person of the Most Holy Trinity, Pope Pius V – who headed the council after Pope Paul III of good memory passed away – infallibly ordered that new liturgies cannot be constructed for the very reason that heresies, abuses, blasphemies, and innovations are within them and will only destroy the faith of many. As Saint Thomas Aquinas has stated: The Law of Prayer is the Law of belief, or the way we pray is the way we believe: Lex Oriendi, Lex Credendi.

Granted, it explains why we Roman Catholics that are faithful to the magisterium object to the illicit construction of a new liturgy that was released after the Second Vatican Council: that being the Novus Ordo Mass. It is a fact, and yes I have proof, that the constructors of the Novus Ordo mass were 6 Protestant Ministers and a excommunicated Freemason (since affiliation with the Masonic sect is a automatic excommunication), that being Archbishop Bugini, or as the Masons called him: Brother Buan.

He himself has made it known in his own writings that his intention was to create a new liturgy that would be pleasing to those within the Protestant congregations so that we may not cause a division.
“We must strip from our Catholic prayers and from the Catholic liturgy everything which can be the shadow of a stumbling block for our separated brethren that is for the Prostestants.” – Archbishop Annibale Bugnini, main author of the New Mass, L’Osservatore Romano, March 19, 1965
Some would ask: “Wouldn’t making a liturgy that we can all agree upon only unite all Christians? Isn’t this a good thing and will only help build bridges and convert people back to the church?”

While it is good that there is the intention to convert non Catholics for the salvation of their soul, it is impossible to make a liturgy that would be pleasing to all religions simply because we all uphold different beliefs, ours being orthodox while non Catholics are heterodox and heretical. If we would make a “ecumenical liturgy”, we would have to depart from Sacred Tradition and remove Catholic identity, but even worse, Catholic doctrine and dogma itself.

Since Jesus founded the Roman Catholic Church in which teaches His Truth (1 Cor 3:15), The Church cannot ever change Her Teachings since Christ’s teachings doesn’t change for the very fact that He is Truth Himself. If truth were to “evolve” as the modernists suggests, that would mean that Christ is a liar which is only blasphemy. But we as Catholics know this isn’t true since Christ’s Words will never pass away. “Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass.” (Matt 24:35)

Plus, to water down the faith in order to ‘convert’ those outside the Church would never be a true conversion since they would still uphold their heterodox beliefs and practices. The watering down of the faith to be more appealing to non Catholics for ‘conversion’ is a error that Pope Leo XIII has condemned: that being the heresy of Americanism.

So where does this leave us? It shows that we as the Church Militant are in a crises worse than we have ever seen before. But we must have Hope and trust in Our Lady, for Her Immaculate Heart will triumph as She has promised at Fatima in 1917 since She has warned in the Third Secret that a great apostasy will come from the Top, therefore the crises of faith after Vatican 2. So what do we do? We pray, Hope, and don’t worry as Padre Pio recommended. We stick to Tradition. We pray and work towards Catholic restoration. We combat heresy. We stay in the state of grace. We educate ourselves in the faith. We pray and work towards the restoration of the true Mass within the Roman Rite parishes, that being the Traditional Latin Mass (heck even the Ambrosian and Mozarabic since Trent accepted them!)
